Relationship & Couples Therapy
Relationships can be one of the greatest sources of comfort, connection, and growth in our lives, but they can also become a place of tension, misunderstanding, and emotional pain.
Working together, we will explore both your individual experiences and the patterns that emerge within your relationship. We will focus on the relationship itself — the dynamic that exists between you and how it has been shaped over time.
My approach is not about deciding who is “right” or “wrong,” but about helping you better understand the emotional needs, fears, and experiences that may be shaping your interactions.
A central part of the therapeutic process involves developing a deeper understanding of yourselves and each other, including how past experiences, family dynamics, attachment patterns, and life events may influence the way you communicate, respond, and relate within your partnership today.
Through this process, relationship therapy can help strengthen communication, rebuild trust, deepen emotional connection, and support healthier ways of relating
Support through life's most difficult transitions
Relationship therapy can also be especially valuable during periods of significant life change or emotional stress.
Many relationships are tested during times of grief, caregiving responsibilities, fertility struggles, or major family transitions.
I support clients navigating experiences such as:
-
Caring for ageing parents
-
Grief and loss, including the loss of a parent
-
Separation and learning to live amicably after divorce
-
Co-parenting challenges
-
Fertility issues and navigating fertility treatment
-
Pregnancy loss, early termination, or the loss of a child
-
Adoption and surrogacy journeys
-
Major life transitions affecting the relationship dynamic
These experiences can bring up complex emotions, unspoken fears, and relational strain.
Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, communicate more openly, and navigate these challenges together with greater understanding and compassion.
All types of Relationships
Relationship therapy is not only for romantic partners. I work with a wide range of significant relationships, including:
-
Parent and adult child relationships
-
Sibling relationships
-
Friendships
-
Co-parenting relationships
-
Separated or divorced couples learning to navigate ongoing family life
-
Multiple partner or non-monogamous relationships
-
Blended and step-family dynamic
Every relationship has its own unique challenges, history, and emotional complexities. I facilitate a supportive space to help you better understand these dynamics and create healthier, more meaningful ways of relating to one another.
My Approach
I understand that seeking relationship therapy can feel vulnerable, particularly when communication has broken down or emotions feel heightened.
My practice offers a calm and supportive environment where difficult conversations can take place safely and respectfully. We will work at a pace that feels manageable for everyone involved, creating space for honesty, curiosity, and emotional understanding.
Whether you are hoping to strengthen your relationship, navigate conflict, process a major life event, or better understand longstanding relational patterns, therapy can provide an opportunity for meaningful growth and deeper connection.
